The very first #BCF Monthly is officially halfway over and we had 19 wonderful entries for the first prompt. We hope you’ll take the time and read through them all HERE, bonus points if you leave supportive comments for the authors!

Lillie McFerrin is a wonderful (and stubborn) woman who many of you should know for her fantastic Five Sentence Fiction challenge. She is also a co-host for this little tournament and the first prompt’s presiding judge! Unfortunately, she’s been going through some really sad and rough times so if you guys could leave her some heartfelt tweets and emails I’m sure she’d appreciate it.

THE QUALIFIERS

She Left Her Heart In San Francisco by Lupus Anthropos

She Left Her Heart In San Francisco by Fulmoj

This story was full of intrigue, beginning to end. The dialogue was perfect, the imagery wonderful, and I was left wanting so much more. Great story telling!!

Short Goodbyes by J. Whitworth Hazzard

Short Goodbyes by J. Whitworth Hazzard

From the spectacular opening line all the way to the bang at the end I love this story. It’s wonderful when a story ends in such an unexpectedly smashing way!

Gone by Rob D Young

Gone by Rob D Young

The imagery really pulled me in with Rob’s story. It was full of promise and possibilities. I’m rooting for this girl!!

Remember that all qualified authors will receive a copy of Rob D Young’s book, Broken Glass. So if you’ve qualified, please EMAIL us so that we can help you get in contact with Rob and get your copy of the book!

 HONORABLE MENTION

Because I love a good sinister tale.

Didn’t qualify? Don’t fret!

You’ve still got another chance to qualify for #BCF December! Prompt #2 will be posted shortly so keep your eyes on our twitter or keep refreshing our homepage till you see it! We promise this next prompt will be a doozy!

So you’ve qualified, now what?

Your story will move onto the final round where it will be pitted against all of the other qualifying entries to see whose is the best. The best story will earn its author the title of Monthly Mahatma, the $15 Amazon Gift Card, and all other associated prizes (including a 280 x 280 ad space on our side bar).

But, don’t get complacent there is still another prompt coming up and if you’re determined you can clinch yourself another qualifier spot. If you’re successful, then instead of facing off against 5 other authors, you’ll only be up against 4! Not only that, but you’ll have TWO stories to compete with! So sharpen your pencils, juice up your creativity, and WIN!
